144 illegal encroachments demolished on Saturday

Dehradun 07 July, 2018-In pursuance of orders of honorable High court, the exercise of identification of illegal encroachments and illegal constructions on footpaths, lanes and roads, its demolition, identification and sealing of such illegal encroachments in Dehradun city by Mussoorie- Dehradun Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun and district administration has been going on.

On Saturday, Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash himself inspected the work of demolition, sealing and identification of illegal encroachments on the ground. He inspected the demotion, identification and marking and sealing process of illegal encroachments on Raipur road at DEAL factory, Nalapani Chowk and on Haridwar road near Roadways workshop.

Under the anti-encroachment drive on Saturday, 144 illegal encroachments were demolished and 271 encroachments were identified. A total of 795 illegal encroachments have been demolished, 2424 illegal encroachments have been identified and 75 buildings were sealed in the drive till date.

Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash reviewed the campaign to remove encroachments and identification of encroachments and further action  with anti-encroachment task force officials at a meeting held at Women Industrial Training Institute, RDT Auditorium at Survey Chowk.

He instructed Ashish Srivastava, Chief of Task Force to remove encroachments who is also vice-president of Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority that the owners of the buildings which had been demolished by the anti-encroachment task force should be challaned and the process to recover money from them should also be hastened. He said that there should not be any slackness in filing challans and getting money. He said that FIR should be lodged under relevant sections of IPC against all those who again indulge in encroachments. He further said that any slackness in the demolition drive will not be tolerated. He instructed that it should be ensured and vigil maintained that from where hoardings have been removed during anti-encroachment drive, are not put up again.

Om Prakash strictly instructed the District Magistrate and police department that Sunday market should not be allowed under any circumstances so that there is less pressure of traffic and the work of anti-encroachment drive could be undertaken without any difficulty.  He said that if anyone put up a shop in Sunday market then that person should be arrested and action taken against such persons.

Ashish Srivastava, Chief of Task Force to remove encroachments who is also vice-president of Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority, District Magistrate S.A.Murugesan,  Chief City Commissioner Vijay Jogdande,  Secretary MDDA P.C. Dumka, Under Secretary Dinesh Kumar Punetha and officials connected with the anti-encroachment drive were present in the meeting.
